The automotive supplier is recruiting for warehouse, production, maintenance and technical positions as work advances on its massive Gadsden manufacturing campus.
GADSDEN, Ala. — One of the largest industrial projects announced in Gadsden in years is now creating a more immediate opportunity for local workers: Minth North America is actively hiring.
The automotive supplier is recruiting for multiple positions in Gadsden as it moves forward with a $430 million manufacturing campus at the former Republic Steel and Gulf States Steel property.
Current job postings include positions in warehouse operations, production, maintenance, welding, sheet-metal processing , quality control, and more.
Among the Gadsden openings listed by Minth are:
- Warehouse Associate: $18–$23 per hour
- Mechanical Maintenance Technician: $22–$32 per hour
- Sheet Metal Processing Technician: $22–$30 per hour
- Assembly & Welding Technician: $22–$30 per hour
- Warehouse Section Leader: $55,000–$80,000 per year
- Production Section Leader: $55,000–$80,000 per year

Hiring offers an early look at the Gadsden operation
The job descriptions also provide a glimpse into the type of manufacturing operation Minth is building.
A listing for an electrical maintenance technician, for example, describes work involving production equipment, programmable logic controllers, variable-frequency drives and automated manufacturing systems.
A mechanical maintenance position calls for experience maintaining equipment involving hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems.
Other postings seek workers involved in sheet-metal processing, assembly, welding, warehouse operations and production management.
Some listings specifically reference work involving energy-storage container production, suggesting that the Gadsden operation will encompass manufacturing activities beyond the traditional exterior automotive components for which Minth is widely known.
More than 1,300 jobs planned
The current hiring represents only a portion of what state and local officials say could eventually become a much larger workforce.
Minth plans to invest more than $430 million at approximately 400 acres of the former steel mill property.
The Alabama Department of Commerce announced the project in March, saying the development could create more than 1,300 jobs and include nearly 1 million square feet of manufacturing space.
State incentive records list the project under Minth Big and Beautiful Alabama LLC with 1,325 planned jobs and a projected average wage of $23.65 per hour.
Those figures are available through the Alabama Department of Commerce’s public incentives records.
The $23.65 figure is a projected average associated with the overall incentive agreement and does not represent the salary of every individual position.
A major redevelopment of Gadsden’s former steel mill
The project is also significant because of where it is being built.
Minth is redeveloping property formerly associated with Republic Steel and Gulf States Steel, a site that played a major role in Gadsden’s industrial economy for generations.
City officials and Minth representatives held a groundbreaking at the property in August.
The City of Gadsden said the development will become Minth’s largest campus globally by land area.
Gadsden-based Greer Building Contractors was selected for construction work associated with the project, according to the city.
Public incentives support the development
The project is also receiving substantial government incentives.
Alabama Department of Commerce records list approximately $22.15 million in jobs-related incentives and approximately $24.73 million in investment-related incentives for the project.
The Gadsden City Council also approved a 10-year tax-abatement agreement covering certain non-educational property taxes, construction-related transaction taxes and mortgage and recording taxes.

What job seekers should know
Anyone interested in a Minth position should check the company’s current listings rather than relying on older screenshots or social-media posts, because openings, pay ranges and requirements may change.
Several of the currently advertised jobs require manufacturing experience or specialized technical skills, while the warehouse associate listing seeks previous warehouse experience and lists manufacturing warehouse experience as preferred.
As Minth moves closer to full-scale production, additional positions could be posted.
