You do not need an account
You can read everything on Etowah Wire without signing up or giving us any personal information. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand, in general terms, how readers use the site: which stories are read, how readers find us and how well pages work. This helps us decide what to cover and improve the site. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not send it your name, e-mail address or other personal details.
If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we do not load analytics.
Google processes this information under its own privacy policy. You can also use Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies: to remember settings you choose on the site, to measure visits through analytics, and to keep the site secure. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site still works.
Security and technical information
Like any website, we and the companies that help us run the site process basic technical information, such as IP addresses and browser details, to deliver pages, keep the site secure and fix problems. This information is kept only as long as needed and is not used to identify readers.
When you contact us
If you e-mail us, we receive your e-mail address and whatever you include in your message. We use it to reply, to check tips and to correct errors. We protect the identity of people who share information with us when they ask us to.
Links to other sites
Our stories link to documents and websites run by others. Their privacy practices are their own.
Children
Etowah Wire is a general news site. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes and questions
We will update this page if our practices change and show the date of the change at the top. Questions about privacy can be sent to legal@etowahwire.com.
